Designed as a venue for weddings, social celebrations, and corporate gatherings, the Grand Ballroom is a golden event space with panoramic views of the Gulf Coast.
Created by Grand Galvez owner Mark Wyant, the Grand Ballroom is an expansion and redesign of the Veranda and Terrace event spaces, now 35% larger following the removal of a former storage room and east bar. The result is a 5,000-square-foot venue, accommodating 375 seated guests or 500 for receptions.
The Grand Ballroom is defined by its materials and hand craftsmanship:
• Gold leaf, multi-layered molded ceilings
• Custom Versailles-pattern wood inlay flooring, precision-cut for visual impact
• 18 gold chandeliers, 8 crystal chandeliers and 38 wall sconces
• Floor-to-ceiling glass windows with panoramic views of the Gulf
• Flexible partitioning to accommodate large celebrations and intimate gatherings

Eighteen gold chandeliers, eight crystal chandeliers and 38 wall sconces decorate the room.
• Music Hall
o A second major venue spanning approximately 5,000 square feet, overlooking Centennial Green. Renovated with a palette of sky blue, royal blue, and gold accents, this ballroom features classic décor and architectural details. The space also features the historic Galvez lobby bar—relocated from the former Galveston Club speakeasy.
• East & West Parlor Rooms
o Light-filled spaces ideal for smaller events, accommodating up to 60 guests for seated dinners or receptions.
• Oleander Garden
o An outdoor setting with greenery and water features, offering more than 2,700 square feet and capacity for up to 250 guests.
• Centennial Green
o A Gulf-facing lawn with pergola and expansive views, spanning over 9,000 square feet and accommodating up to 300 guests.
• Center Lawn
o Framed by palm trees and offering views of the historic hotel façade and its custom 4-tiered marble fountain and water display, this outdoor venue hosts up to 100 guests in a classic coastal setting.
